Don Milder, General Partner, Versant Ventures

Possessing a strong operating background in healthcare, Don Milder specializes in medical device and healthcare service investing. Prior to co-founding Versant Ventures, Don led healthcare investing at Crosspoint Venture Partners, where he was a general partner.

Before joining Crosspoint Venture Partners, Don was CEO of Infusion Systems Corporation, a successful Crosspoint portfolio company, and president of TRIMED Corporation, a manufacturer of dialysis, hemophilia, and IV products. Additionally, he held business development positions with Eastman Kodak and Dynatech. As one of the pioneer venture investors in the healthcare services sector, Don developed a highly successful model for early-stage health service investing.

Don has assumed roles as first round investor and board member in more than 20 companies, including TheraTx (public/sold), Informed Access Systems (merged/public), Discovery Partners, (public), Sonus Pharmaceuticals Corporation (public) and Intralase Corporation (public). He currently serves on the boards of Cogent Healthcare, Inc., INC Research, MicroVention, Skylight Healthcare Systems and Tensys Medical, Inc.

Don earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics at Union College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.


Randy Lunn, General Partner, Palomar Ventures

With 25 years of venture capital experience, Randy Lunn holds an impressive record for successfully bringing new companies public and is one of the foremost venture capital investors in Southern California. He consistently produces significant new and growing businesses that are leaders in their fields. As a founding partner of Palomar Ventures, Randy helps set fund strategy and works closely with portfolio companies.

Randy has broad and successful experience in the venture capital industry. He began his venture capital career in 1979 as a founder of Harrison Capital, the venture arm of Texaco. At Harrison Capital, he was responsible for investments in such companies as RF Monolithics, Iomega, Amgen, Compression Labs, MCC, Summa Four, and Synercom. He then went on to become a founder and managing director of Fairfield Venture Partners and made investments in Symbolics, Applied Digital Access, and Life Technologies.

In 1990, he joined TVM Techno Venture Management, an international venture capital firm, where he was Managing Partner of US operations. He helped grow and profitably liquidate a legacy fund and also built a highly successful portfolio of investments that included Pairgain, SCM Microsystems, Concerto (AnswerSoft), Benchmarq Microelectronics, InVision (Quantum Magnetics), Dura, and CollaGenex.

Randy has sat on numerous boards of both US and European companies, helped establish US subsidiaries (SCM Microsystems, Sequenom, ATecoM, Dalim), took interim management positions, and helped advise companies as they navigated the IPO process both in the US and Europe. His primary expertise is in early stage information technology investing. He currently sits on the board of seven Palomar investments: Akonix, Continuous Computing Corporation, Syntricity, Inovys, Datallegro, Network Physics, and Newport Imaging Corporation.

Randy graduated summa cum laude in engineering sciences and holds BA, BE, and MBA degrees from Dartmouth College. He currently serves on the Board of Overseers of Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering.


Bruce Hallett

Bruce Hallett, General Partner, Miramar Venture Partners

Bruce Hallett, a co-founder of Miramar Venture Partners, brings an arsenal of deal development, company-building and strategic management expertise to Miramar and its portfolio companies. Bruce has served on the boards of directors of public and private companies whose investors included top tier venture funds and prominent corporate investors. Currently, three such boards are at Aktino, HyperQuality and Practice Technologies, which are Miramar portfolio companies. He also served on the Board of Berkana Wireless, which was a Miramar portfolio company prior to its acquisition by Qualcomm Incorporated.

Prior to founding Miramar in 2001, Bruce was one of the leading partners in the Business and Technology Group of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. Bruce served as Managing Partner of Brobeck's Orange County Office until early 1999, when he was appointed to Brobeck's Policy Committee. Beginning in early 1999, Bruce also served as one of three partners on Brobeck's Investment Committee, which was responsible for investing and managing Brobeck's captive venture funds. Bruce joined Brobeck as a partner in early 1993 after spending nine years at Morrison & Foerster, where he was a partner in Morrison's emerging companies practice.

In his 19-year career as a corporate finance strategist and lead counsel to high growth technology companies, venture capitalists and investment banks, Bruce orchestrated initial public offerings, venture financings and liquidity events for many high profile technology companies in Southern California, including Broadcom, Buy.com, Exult and PairGain Technologies. In 1999, Bruce was recognized as one of Southern California's leading technology lawyers and was selected by members of the California State Bar as one of the 100 most influential attorneys in California.

Bruce received his undergraduate degree from UC Irvine in 1978, where he graduated magna cum laude. He received his J.D. from UCLA in 1981. Bruce resides in Corona del Mar, California.


Bob More, General Partner, Frazier Healthcare Ventures

Bob More joined the California office of Frazier Healthcare Ventures in 2008.  Prior to Frazier, Bob was with Domain Associates; first as a Kauffman Fellow in 1996, and then becoming a Partner in 2000. Bob has served on the Board of Directors of ESP Pharma, Glaukos, Onux Medical, OmniSonics Medical Technologies, Auxeris Therapeutics, Proxima Therapeutics, Novalar Pharmaceuticals, NovaCardia and TargetRx, and was responsible for Domain's investment in IntraLase. From 1997-1998, Bob served as the Chief Operating Officer of Small Molecule Therapeutics, a Domain portfolio company subsequently purchased by Morphochem AG. From 1992 to 1995, Mr. More was with Pharmacia Biotech as a Senior Sales Associate. Prior to joining Pharmacia, he held a research position at Somatogen, a company developing a recombinant blood substitute that was subsequently bought by Baxter. While attending business school, Bob worked with MedVest, an early-stage venture group in Washington, D.C. B.A. - Middlebury College, 1989; M.B.A. - Darden School of Business Administration, University of Virginia, 1996
